President's Message

I would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to all of our members who pitched in to make 2009 another successful year for the Toronto Section. 2009 saw some significant changes to our annual events, including, for the first time ever, the Concours d'Elegance being held indoors, hosted by Downtown Mercedes-Benz. The fact that it rained that day made it a fortunate choice of locations. Luckly the rain held up until most of the cars were inside.
For 2010 we are planning to change the venue of the Concours as well, with details to follow in the March Newsletter. A fall Winery Tour of Prince Edward County is also in the works as a new event. We're looking forward to starting some new traditions as well as continuing with our usual events.
The success of these activities and of the club in general depends on the participation of our members to help plan and organize these events. For many years, we have depended upon a small group of dedicated individuals who have worked tirelessly to make our club what it is. These individuals have reached the stage where their tireless service to date along with other commitments make it difficult to continue volunteering to the same extent they have in the past. Consequently, we are looking for a new wave of active club members to take the wheel and spell the others for a while. Our club would certainly welcome the input and efforts of all who wish to help out by volunteering their time or ideas, either as a board member, or with the organization of some or all activities.
Sincerely,
Jason Priest, President, Toronto Section, (416)-231-9422 jpriest@rogers.com |
